German Spätzle

There is nothing more German than Spätzle! This egg noodle is a great addition to meat dishes, especially Gulasch. In Bavaria, Spätzle are served with melted Appenzeller cheese and roasted onions as a main dish.

Spätzle press
Large bowl
Large Pot
German Spätzle


400g all-purpose flour
4 eggs
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon salt


  1. Mix all ingredients into a dough
  2. Let rest for 20 mins, dough should be wet and sticky
  3. Press dough through Spätzle press into boiling salt water
  4. Once Spätzle rise to the top, strain
